If you happen to consume large quantities of alcoholic beverage, you will wake up feeling like a wreck, with some or all of these symptoms:
- impaired vision
- irrational judgment
- weakened muscles
In order to wake up feeling better and cure hangover, you need to readjust the liquid and food you ingest in order to re-hydrate your body. These should be rich in water, glucose, calcium, vitamins and other relevant minerals. They are meant to purify affected body organs and get your system up and running again.
Start by drinking plenty of water throughout the day. This is a sure way to help re-hydrate the affected body organs.
You can tell your body lacks enough water by the color of urine the morning after. Dark yellow urine is a sign your body is drying up.
Normal urine should be light yellow in color. Beware though not to abuse water by over drinking it. You can spice the water with lemon.
Fruit and Juice
Water aside, take lots of juice. The juice could be separate or a mixture of lemon, apple, passion, watermelon, orange etc, to help boost levels of vitamins and help re-hydrate the body. Those with stomach ulceration need to make sure the fruity drink is not acidic so as not to exacerbate other complications.
Take a few fingers of bananas. These can help provide the much-needed potassium and magnesium. They are anti acids and will help reduce the acids in the stomach linings.
An egg or two eaten fried or boiled, contains cysteine which is important in fighting symptoms of hangover. Eggs also add protein to your body and help relieve nausea.
Take soups, especially chicken soup for increased sodium levels, This soup mixed with leafy greens and tomatoes for vitamins, will speed up recovery.
Chew or drink ginger to relieve stomach irritation and nausea.
Honey & Yogurt
Other popular remedies include honey and yogurt which will provide simple sugars to replenish lost energy. Honey is an excellent source of natural sugars, and God knows how much you need it.
Finally, take a nap. The human body has a way of fixing itself when at peace. Rest allows the body parts including the tensed up jaws to unwind.
Sleep allows for uninterrupted healing and compounded with the healthy eating outlined above, you should be good to go in a matter of hours.
